Hearts of Hope Quilt Pattern
My first quilt design!
QUILT PATTERN

Back in January, when the wildfires were breaking out, I decided I needed to do something. I couldn't go out there and help them fight the fires. I didn't even have much money I could send. I didn't have a spare room to let someone stay in (if they'd even want to move all the way to Arkansas!). But what I could do... design a pattern and donate part of the proceeds to Convoy of Hope. So that's what I did.
I was currently working on a Dear Daughter quilt by Rebecca Mae Design. (Pic below). I loved how there were all these different blocks and different sizes that all fit together. I took inspiration from that, as well as as an add for a new line of Fabric from Hoffman Fabric that looked fiery.
I also wanted a design that was a skill-builder. Maybe not something for complete beginners, but something that would allow you to learn new skills and build on those. I also wanted something that could use scraps and your stash. I had just made a resolution to not buy more fabric (Don't we all do that every year?).
Thus, Hearts of Hope was born. It's split up into 7 sections. Each section could ideally be done in one long evening, so if you have a short, or a long period of time, you can do part off a section, or more than one section. Each section adds another skill, or another type of block.
Part 1 starts with easy things like a 9-patch, a 4-patch, and half square triangles.
Part 2 combines the 9-patch with a half square triangle to create a friendship star. etc.
