Crafting Unique Quilts with Love
I've been sewing since High School. I loved sewing and customizing my own clothes. When I went to college, I sewed some curtains for my apartment, and later, I wanted to make a quilt. Unfortunately, I did not have the right tools and it did not turn out well at all. I will spare you the details. Let me just tell you that I was using jersey fabric, no stabilizer, scissors and a cardbaord template. Nothing was the same size, and nothing went together well. I was so frustrated by it.
I'd always loved crafts an creating, so I focused on crocheting. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was young, an it's something I loved.
In 2016, I met an woman named Ruth. She volunteered at my workplace. I saw her every day, and she always talked about quilting. We looked at quilting magazines and books, and she kept telling me that it was easy. I just remembered that first quilt I'd made. She helped me get the right tools, and before I knew it, I had a finished quilt top!
These are the first few quilts I made. The one with the cat is the first one that I had long-armed. So it just goes to show you that we all start somewhere. None of the seams match up, and it's just mostly squares! If you're just starting out too, don't give up!
I just wrote my first quilt pattern in 2025, Hearts of Hope.
