This simple, yet stunning quilt. Inspired by a local charity, Three Wishes for Ruby’s Residents, this quilt helps to give home to the elderly. Ruby’s Charity works directly to with the residents in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes. They grant each senior “Three Wishes.” And try to accommodate each and every wish, from a simple box of Kleenex brand tissues to concert tickets to see their favorite musical artist who just happens to be playing locally.

When I think of wishes, I think of one of three things, wishing upon falling stars, birthday candles, or blowing the dandelion seeds. This quilt, with the dandelion flowers in a meadow of wildflowers represents the wish seeds growing, preparing to be wished up and blown across the field.

Profits from the sale of this pattern will go toward the charity to help Ruby grant the wises of the elderly, thus the dandelion flowers in the quilt are where the wishes are born. Likewise, Silver Threads Quilt Drive (Facebook Group) donates quilts to this charity. Feel free to join!
