Round Robin Part 2
Beth’s Block
LTSGUILD IDEASROUND ROBIN

I dug in my stash until I found 2 old jelly roll strips in pale blue with clouds. I also found some yellow strips. I do love me some blue/yellow. I wanted to bring out the angle of those HST corners, so I made a bunch of HST. Then I started arranging them. This final layout was actually an accident. I was meaning for all the HST to go the same direction on each side. I sewed 2 together wrong… and since I hate seam ripping, I went with it. I found come nice cornerstone fabric and added those in the corners.
It still felt like it wasn’t quite ready, so I added a 1” border to finish it off, just in time to pass it on to Cindy!
Beth started her block as a simple floral print with a border. Anna aded the Churn-dash looking section, then it was up to me. My first instinct is to add something to bring that bright red out from the center, but Beth was very specific in using pale colors only. Anyone who knows me knows that I love bright bold colors, so this one was more difficult for me.
Needless to say, I stare at this one for quite some time. Now, at the beginnings of Round Robins, sometimes I like to turn things on-point. This block was still small enough that I could do that. I thought it might look good to but little dresden flowers in each corner. I even cut out a bunch of dresden pieces along with some background fabric. However, my dresden flowers were too big… so I went back to the drawing board.
