Welcome to week 33 in the Shades of Gray Quilt Block Tour.

The Shades of Gray Quilt Block Tour is a year long sew along of sorts. Every week for 50 weeks 30 different designers will release a free 6″ finished quilt block. Some of the blocks are applique, some are patchwork, all are fun. You can collect the blocks you like or collect all of them and share your progress in the Facebook Group. What do the blocks have in common? The blocks should be mostly shades of gray and can include a pop of color. This sounds really interesting to me because you could make the entire quilt shades of gray and choose a limited number of blocks to group for the pop of color, the possibilities are endless.

I actually had a very hard time deciding what my block was going to be. At first, I was going to do a simple Ohio Star, but then I thought I could do a play on my Cryptid Claw block, Then I was going to make a stack of books.

After I decided I'd do a coffee cup, I realized I had no grey fabric left! I did finally manage to dig up some scraps of grey!

This pattern is very easy, even though there's weird angles, I promise! It's free, so there's nothing to loose, and everything to gain. Can you imagine how cute an entire quilt filled with coffees could be? (If you do that, please share photos, I'll put them here!)
